[REAL] is an album placed on a timeline that blurs the boundaries of the present, mixing memory and imagination, expectation and longing. Between the moments when we look back on past love and the times that have yet to come, we sometimes lose sight of the present, which should be the most ‘real’.
In those moments of love that cannot be clearly defined, the times where it is not clear where it begins and where it ends, or whether the emotion I am feeling right now is a memory or an expectation, freely intersect and constantly change within one album.
At the same time, [REAL] is also the album in which artist Shinwoo reveals himself most honestly through music. Taking the musical experience he has accumulated so far, he went one step further and told the story in the way that CNU wants to express it the most. CNU's musical sense is more freely displayed, ranging from vocals, melodies, and sounds, going back and forth between various textures and atmospheres centered on R&B.
So, ‘REAL’ in [REAL] does not simply mean real. It means showing the real me, and at the same time, it is a statement about Shinwoo's question of what is real. Music that is unfamiliar and becomes clearer because it has escaped the familiar image. In it, CNU faces a new point where his own world begins, between the music he has passed and the music he will make in the future.
Standing still for a moment somewhere between the past and the future yet to come, [REAL] is the first record that most honestly captures love, music, and the ‘present’ of artist CNU.
