Re: SCENE#1
I enjoyed listening to it. First and foremost, it was an honor to hear your story. Thanks to you, I am filled with the purest heart I've felt in a long time, and I am writing this reply before the lingering emotions fade.
To be honest, 'Dazzling Night' was quite unexpected. I had guessed that La Poem's first album, and especially the theme of the story, would be about the warmest things. Surprisingly, it was a story that paradoxically unfolded a bitterly sorrowful parting in a beautiful way. At some point, I became a lyricist who could no longer write about 'parting' in a purely sad way. This happened once I started thinking that the act of parting carries enough energy before and after to easily raise a whole person. The experience of having something precious enough to be named a 'parting,' the fear learned only by possessing something one does not want to lose, and the strength that grows as strong as that fear. Following that, the countless sorrows and the composure required to accept letting go of something so precious, and finally, the sturdy space called 'me' that can once again hold the beautiful things gained through that process.
After receiving a powerful greeting from 'Amigos Para Siempre,' listening to 'New Moon,' 'Dazzling Night,' and 'First Rain' in succession made me feel as though the unnecessary and sticky things stagnating inside me were being cleared away. 'La Tempesta,' in particular, told me that story more decisively. I once mentioned that La Poem seems like they will become a team like high-end audio equipment. What produces a good sound is the 'space' before the instrument and the music. As expected of La Poem, perhaps they wanted to first tidy up the space where the songs would enter and be sung?
Thank you for showing me through this album that a good story and a good sound are by no means separate concepts. I will also remember the thoughtful heart that first caressed the heaviest and most painful things.
P.S. Interestingly, the voices of the four of you played different roles for me: 'Ideal,' 'Determination,' 'The me who lives through today,' and 'The ground I stand upon.' However, I will leave the correct matching open to everyone's interpretation.
Sincerely,
Kim Eana
