Stray Kids released their mini-album 'Cle : LEVANTER' on December 9.
Having boldly made their debut in the music industry with the self-composed song 'Hellevator', Stray Kids continue to write a history of limitless musical growth, putting their names on the credits of every track up until the new album 'Cle : LEVANTER'.
Starting with 'Cle 1 : MIROH', followed by 'Cle 2 : Yellow Wood', they have finally unveiled 'Cle : LEVANTER', the finale of the 'Cle' series.
Entering the world of adults through 'MIROH', Stray Kids walked toward their own direction using burning fighting spirit and passion as their weapons. In the maze they entered by facing hardships and adversity head-on, they encountered 'side effects'. However, rather than collapsing, they chose to tie their shoelaces tight once more and leap into the world.
Stray Kids, who have run toward their dreams until now, have condensed the true meaning of 'Cle' found during their past journey into this album.
The title track 'Levanter' is a song where the team's producing group 3RACHA, JYP head Park Jin-young, and talented musician Herz Analog are credited for the lyrics.
Stray Kids calmly sing about the emotions the members felt with lyrics such as, "What I needed was myself, walking wherever my two feet lead me, the moment I leave the tunnel that trapped me in a dream, I feel the light pouring down."
The new mini-album contains a total of 8 tracks, including the title track 'Levanter', 'STOP', 'Double Knot', 'Booster', 'Astronaut', 'Sunshine', 'You Can STAY', and 'Mixtape#5', which can only be heard on the CD. They once again participated in the writing and composing of all songs, melting in Stray Kids' inherent colors.
'STOP' is a song that serves as an extension of 'Walkin' (The Path Never Stepped On)' from 'Cle 2 : Yellow Wood'. Matthew Tishler, who has worked on Disney OSTs, collaborated with 3RACHA again. The lyrics contain the realization Stray Kids gained upon reaching the end of 'The Path Never Stepped On'.
'Double Knot', pre-released as a digital single on October 9, is a song where one can feel the determined ambition of tying shoelaces tight and moving forward. The boldness of being able to leave for anywhere is melted into an intense melody.
'Booster' completes an explosive mood with a mix of strong rap and multi-dimensional vocals. The energetic rap line lingers addictively, and the members' diverse harmonies are embroidered throughout the song.
'Astronaut', pre-released via a music video on November 14, is an easy-listening song combining a bouncy beat and melody. They increased the quality of the song by collaborating with Sondr, a DJ and producing duo who has worked with famous international pop artists such as Lana Del Rey and Meghan Trainor.
'Sunshine' is a song where member Han is credited for writing and composing. Effort was made to musically implement the feeling of finding quiet peace even amidst a chaotic city.
'You Can STAY' is a track created while thinking of their fans (STAY). Their feelings toward the fans are expressed through lyrics such as, "Thank you for coming to me, for becoming a shadow like me in the approaching light, thank you for holding my hand."
'Mixtape#5' features all members of Stray Kids in the writing and composing credits. Stray Kids' voices over a piano melody captivate the ears. Witty lyrics such as, "The red, yellow, and green colored trees are now trees wearing cloud-colored hoodies, spending this winter with you," stand out.
Stray Kids have run breathlessly until now. With their new album 'Cle : LEVANTER', containing the final story of the 'Cle' series, they deliver courage and faith to the listeners.
