MONSTA X 9th Mini Album
MONSTA X aims for their peak moment with their new mini-album 'One Of A Kind'. This new album is being released approximately 7 months after their 3rd full-length album 'Fatal Love' in November 2020. Interest in this comeback is hotter than ever. From impressive records in the North American music market and topping the Japanese Oricon album chart, to sweeping various award ceremonies including the Grand Prize at the '2020 AAA', and the success of Jooheon and I.M's solo activities. It is a new album that will once again deliver a highlight at the very pinnacle of their career.
The 9th mini-album 'One Of A Kind' is a result that emphasizes 100% pure MONSTA X. The title 'One Of A Kind' was chosen to show the MONSTA X style completed with stronger teamwork and deeper music and performance. This also signifies MONSTA X's identity as a team with a unique color in the fierce K-pop scene. The visuals armed with blockbuster-scale scale, the immersion of the movie-like music video, and the intense music and performance remain overwhelming.
The title track 'GAMBLER' is a song produced by member Jooheon, serving as a signature track that showcases a fatal charm. A song about the feeling of a strong attraction—enough to bet everything—and the glances exchanged between each other, it is sufficient to convey the confident energy of MONSTA X. Starting with Jooheon's narration, "If you don’t know, now you know," which became the key keyword of this song, it provides relentless immersion.
The message of 'GAMBLER', which compares a breathtaking moment of temptation to a tense game, is further materialized through the music video. The story unfolding at a secretly held secret auction delivers a strange thrill under a mysterious atmosphere and the meticulous composition of a crime movie. The various styling of the members appearing across glamorous stages and runways is also impressive.
MONSTA X, who have shown high participation in every album, have once again put their names on the songwriting and composing credits for many tracks. Jooheon, who took charge of producing MONSTA X's first title track, participated in all songs, including the refreshing drive song 'Heaven'. I.M, who left an impressive record with his mixtape, also put his name on the credits of all songs, including his self-composed track 'Rotate'. Additionally, Hyungwon, who is also active as DJ H.ONE, captured a promise made to fans over the past 6 years in the B-side track 'BEBE'. As each member has expanded their own territory through various activities, this will serve as an opportunity to show the distinct musical growth of MONSTA X.
MONSTA X opens another beginning amidst the support of global fans. Having won the 'Stage of the Year' category at the '2020 AAA' with their 3rd full-length album—their first Grand Prize in 6 years since debut—MONSTA X swept various award ceremonies, including the Best Performance award at '2020 MMA', Best Stage award at '2020 MAMA', Artist of the Year at '2020 TMA', Best Group award at the '35th Golden Disc Awards', and TOP10 and Represent Song Of This Year at the '2020 APAN Music Awards'. Furthermore, they proved their presence as a global group once again by topping the Oricon chart with the Japanese single 'WANTED' released in March. Music fans around the world are focusing their attention on what kind of image MONSTA X, armed with differentiated music and performance, will present with 'One Of A Kind'.
