‘Apink’ 9th Mini Album 【LOOK】
Apink’s ‘Dumhdurum,’ focusing entirely on ‘me’
Apink’s own story, told exactly as it is
One year and three months after ‘%%,’ which proved Apink's infinite potential last January, Apink is releasing their 9th mini album 【LOOK】.
The overall concept of this album, 【LOOK】, is centered on ‘me,’ carrying the meaning of ‘loving myself as I am and living according to how I see things.’ The tracks on the album also capture stories where the focus is placed on ‘me.’ Furthermore, the inclusion of unit songs that further showcase Apink's charm is raising high expectations.
The title track of the 9th mini album 【LOOK】, ‘Dumhdurum,’ is a song by producers Black Eyed Pilseung and Jeon Gun, who showed fantastic chemistry with Apink through ‘None’ and ‘%%’ and provided great support for Apink's transformation. It is a dance song blending an addictive melody with synth leads, using the newly coined term ‘Dumhdurum’ to express a heart that remains calm and indifferent in the face of a departed love. With a highly addictive hook and a melodic sensibility that is both Spanish and Oriental, the song sufficiently showcases a new side of Apink's charm.
In addition to the title track, the album features a total of 7 songs: the R&B dance track “Yummy,” which wittily expresses love as a sweet taste; the unit song “Be Myself” by Chorong, Eunji, and Namjoo, which expresses the will to forget the pain of past love and live as oneself; the unit song “Love is Blind” by Bomi, Naeun, and Hayoung, which cutely expresses the feeling of falling in love; the R&B ballad “Overwrite,” which specifically depicts becoming calm in the face of a breakup as it is covered by other memories; the 9th-anniversary fan song “I Love Every Moment of You,” which sings of the moments created between Apink and their fans over nine years; and “Everybody Ready?,” which was released to celebrate their 8th debut anniversary.
