ONEUS Releases First Full-Length Debut Album [DEVIL]
The unique identity of 'stage geniuses' ONEUS, encompassing their worldview over the past two years
- A special consolation from ONEUS delivered in 2021, the era of 'Corona Blue'! - 'Do what you want to do!', a charming message thrown by the 'DEVIL' called 'you' or 'me' to a world overflowing with jealousy and envy.
RBW boy group ONEUS will release their first full-length debut album [DEVIL] on January 19, 2021. As one of the most noticed boy groups among current K-pop groups, ONEUS—consisting of RAVN, Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, and Xion—is recording the highest growth rate, achieving a career high with every album release. Standing tall as a leader of the 4th generation male idols based on powerful global popularity, such as entering the US Billboard Social 50 chart for eight consecutive weeks and recording sales of over 120,000 copies for their previous album [LIVED], ONEUS has finally returned with their first full-length album [DEVIL].
[DEVIL], a high-quality first full-length album that encompasses the charms of ONEUS, is an extension of the previous album [LIVED], depicting the current state of ONEUS, who chose 'life' on the boundary between life and death. Although called a 'DEVIL' for the reason of being different from others, the album is completed with the bold ambition of ONEUS, delivering an independent message of 'do what you truly want to do' rather than being conscious of the gazes of those around them.
Completing the story they have prepared since their debut, ONEUS attempts an unconventional image transformation without hesitation in this [DEVIL] album. Combined with RBW's outstanding planning capabilities and the full effort of RBW's proud producing team, they have completed a performance imbued with sophisticated storytelling that only ONEUS can pull off.
The title track 'No diggity' contains the bold cry of those called DEVILs in a world full of jealousy and envy, offering a unique consolation to the public while delivering the message, 'do what you truly want to do.' 'No diggity' is a hybrid trap genre attempted by ONEUS for the first time, showcasing an intense sound contrasting with the music they have shown so far. The diverse instrument composition and harmonious sound, including hip-hop drum & bass, intense guitar, and trendy riffs, come across as charming. Furthermore, the atmosphere that gradually builds up toward the end of the song and the overwhelming vocals explode the listener's adrenaline.
The music video for 'No diggity' captures the public's attention with its unique album concept, impressive art direction, and captivating, splendid visual beauty. In particular, the video diversely captures the free-spirited yet sexy image of the 'DEVIL' as interpreted by ONEUS, and was directed by Director Hong Won-ki of Johnny Bros, a master of music videos who has boasted fantastic chemistry with ONEUS since their debut.
The full-length album [DEVIL] consists of a total of 11 tracks, completing a story unique to ONEUS, including the title track ‘No diggity’, ‘Intro : Devil is in the detail’, ‘Leftover’, ‘Incomplete’, ‘Youth’, ‘BBUSYEO’, ‘Rewind’, ‘Lion Heart’, ‘What you doing?’, ‘I.P.U’, and ‘Outro : Connect with US’.
