S#1. A woman has Alzheimer's disease. With tears in her eyes, she tells the man to leave her. The man simply smiles and hugs her. The sight of the woman spitting out harsh words with an expression that seems to beg him to stay, and the man offering a bright greeting with a face that looks as if it might collapse at any moment, makes the viewer's heart ache even more. ‘S#1.’ is a Rocky solo song, a track that captures a movie within music. It is characterized by cinematic elements such as dramatic development and twists, the sound of a film projector, lyrics in the form of a conversation, and narration. The beautiful melody, which contrasts with the sad lyrics, further maximizes the poignant love between the man and woman. ASTRO has returned with their 3rd full-length album [Drive to the Starry Road]. While their 2nd full-length album [All Yours] captured their desire to give everything to AROHA, this album aims to convey the feeling that ASTRO and AROHA are always together. Spending the brilliant period of youth together through joys and sorrows, ASTRO has captured memories of the past, the enjoyment of the present, and the anticipation for the future they will move toward together. Through this album, which embodies their unchanging affection for one another, listeners can experience their tight-knit bond. Join ASTRO on a fantastic starlight drive as they return as the ‘Ultimate Kings of Refreshment.’ The joys and sorrows of youth, and a dazzlingly bright new journey. ASTRO has incorporated three themes—‘Drive’, ‘Starry’, and ‘Road’—into their 3rd full-length album [Drive to the Starry Road]. In the title track ‘Candy Sugar Pop’, JinJin, Moonbin, and Rocky participated in writing the lyrics, allowing listeners to feel their sincere stories. As a bright and refreshing pop dance song with a sweet mood, it adds ASTRO's signature refreshing energy—earning them the nickname ‘Heung-stro’ (Exciting ASTRO)—to a rhythmical and addictive hook, marking their return as the ultimate kings of refreshment. Additionally, the six members participated in songwriting, composing, and rap-making to tell their own stories. Having perfectly established themselves as representative ‘refreshing idols’ through numerous albums since debut, ASTRO signals a dazzling starlight sprint—both the path they have traveled with AROHA and the one they will run toward—expressing their sincere desire to remain together. An album completed with a deepened musical spectrum where a refreshment prism pours out. [Drive to the Starry Road] features a full tracklist of 11 songs, ranging from group tracks that blend the charms of all six members to solo tracks that highlight individual strengths. The charm of the full group can be found in the title track ‘Candy Sugar Pop’, the upbeat pop dance song ‘Something Something’, ‘More’, which reveals ASTRO's mature charm, and ‘Sky Blue’, which adds a cool sense of refreshment. Solo tracks that maximize each member's strengths also draw attention. MJ’s ‘Story’ is a pop ballad that adds listening pleasure through a progression that maximizes the flow of emotion; JinJin’s ‘All Day’ is a bright and exciting track with an 808 sound capturing his unique musical sensibility; Cha Eun-woo’s ‘First Love’ combines sweet vocals with a groovy melody; Moonbin’s ‘Let’s go ride’ adds charm with his vocal color and minimal guitar sound; Rocky’s ‘S#1.’ captures a movie within music; and Yoon San-ha’s ‘24 Hours’ offers a comfortable listen through the harmony of electric guitar and vocals. These diverse musical colors of the six members will satisfy fans' expectations. Furthermore, the album is completed with the fan song ‘Like the Stars in the Night Sky’, expressing gratitude to AROHA for always staying by their side with an unchanging heart. This album not only showcases the perfect harmony of the full group but also paints a picture-like sensibility by layering the strengths and charms of each member in various colors. At the highest point, most dazzlingly! “Let’s leave together, for the path is bright even in the darkness.” Since their debut in 2016, ASTRO has been active by showcasing diverse concepts based on ‘refreshment.’ The musical capabilities they have grown over the past six years—not only through group activities but by utilizing individual strengths—create a synergy in this album. Moving beyond the ‘Refreshing Sexy,’ ‘Refreshing Full Power,’ and ‘Refreshing Fantasy’ they have shown previously, they have once again redefined the group's identity as the ‘Ultimate Kings of Refreshment.’ With the 3rd full-length album [Drive to the Starry Road], containing a unique ‘refreshment’ that only ASTRO can show, they are ready to create a cool whirlwind in the hearts of domestic and international fans. In May 2022, let us meet the star shining most dazzlingly at the highest point of the night sky.
