A new album will be released on September 29. The title of the album is ‘Records (Vol. 1)’. It consists of five tracks in total, finally unveiling songs that have remained unreleased until now.
I sought to document a long span of my time, including a song written ten years ago, a track whose recording was completed four years ago, and melodies composed during my military service. Contrary to current trends, two of the tracks exceed five minutes in length. Although there are only five songs, the total running time is comparable to that of a standard full-length album due to the length of the tracks. I have prepared this album with the desire to dramatically capture a complete narrative structure, even if it does not align with contemporary trends.
I have also worked on the arrangements with the intention of performing them at the upcoming November concert, aiming to showcase various facets of my artistry.
1. The End of the Season
This is a song that was performed exclusively for those who attended the mini-concert ‘Dialogue’. It contains lyrics and melodies from my military service, written even before ‘Just as it is now’. I have selected this song as the title track based on the preferences of the fans. It is a long piece with a running time of 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
To me, the end of the four seasons is winter. I have expressed the emotions I associate with winter through this approach. Which end of the season are you currently experiencing?
Additionally, the music video is still being filmed.
2. Lingering Affection
This song was received from a senior in an ensemble class during my time at Dankook University. It is the track that fans most desired to hear as a digital release, and it is finally being presented 11 years later. It has been newly recorded with a fresh arrangement. It is a song from 11 years ago, newly recorded by the Park Jae-jung of 2026.
3. Preparation
In February 2021, I requested producing from Tomita Lab (Keiichi Tomita), and all instruments were recorded in Tokyo. My vocals were recorded four years ago. While there may be subtle differences compared to my current vocal style, that too is part of the recorded history.
4. Goyeon (枯戀)
This is the song I performed for the first time after my discharge at the Lo-Pack Concert. It is a grand piece composed with a concert performance in mind, and I believe it will showcase my classical side. ‘Goyeon’ is a title I created meaning ‘a withered and faded love’. Unlike typical popular songs, it consists of four verses without a chorus.
To realize the live performance of this song, I am preparing a production on an unprecedented scale. This is something you must experience in person.
5. Why
Since there were too few upbeat songs for the concert, I have prepared an exciting track for the first time in a very long while. It sings of a relationship where the other person keeps drifting away whenever one tries to draw closer. I will also present this with a magnificent sound at the concert.
I am both delighted and nervous to share these precious songs with you. I hope they serve as a great gift to you all on September 29.
