HONK - J.DOE

This album was created from late 2019 to late 2020. By the time I finished the post-production and artwork, it had already become 2021. 'J. doe' is a general term used to refer to an unidentified corpse. There is a saying called 'Sashinsa-ho' (The Hungry Tiger). It comes from a story where the Buddha sacrificed himself to feed a tiger, and I felt this image was a good way to explain the contemplations behind my work. After all, they say that a tiger leaves its skin behind when it dies, and a person leaves their name. Why do we continue to write, make songs, and paint while enduring constant pain? There may be various answers, but I cannot clearly define a reason that satisfies me. At the end of these worries, only emptiness remains, yet the actions are repeated. I decided to express that process with the most ambiguous word I know: love. The scar-ridden skin left by the tiger is the trace of my attempts and the legacy of my love.
