I am Potatoy, Cha Soon-jong. To me, music has always been like a toy for the heart. 'Toy' was a playground that satisfied my infinite curiosity and my own precious toy. Even in the shaking moments of life, music was like a precious friend that sustained me. While it was a toy, creation for me was not a simple choice, but an inevitable way of existing. I could not endure without unraveling my deepest inner emotions and thoughts through music, not for others, but for myself. Under the name 'Potatoy,' this album is a work that delicately captures the deepest emotions and memories I had while composing the songs. At times, I suffered, trapped by an image I had created of myself, and was overwhelmed by a suffocating sense of inferiority. There were moments when I wanted to disappear from the world alone. But despite all that, in the end, I longed for warm consolation and came to realize once again the value of a life shared with those I love. These pieces of music were like a long journey for me. This album, which I have prepared with all my heart and soul over a long period of time, is a source of pride and a mirror that shows me most authentically as I am.
