It has already been six years since we first met as Highlight and Light. And here we are, greeting you once again with another album. When I think about it, it feels quite strange. Beyond the simple premise of fan and singer, we have become the most reliable allies in the world sharing a comradeship; at other times, we are like best friends sharing our worries while feeling warmth and excitement; we are in a relationship where we spend our time experiencing every emotion in the world. We may have never even seen each other's faces, yet we need one another and gain strength from each other—how did such a strange, yet strangely sensible connection come to be for us? You, who gain energy by watching us. You, who smile while listening to our songs. You, who say you learn something by watching us. You, who tell us that our very existence is a gift, even though we may have never met in person. You, who say we are the reason for everything we live for. You, who spent each day with us, crying and laughing through countless experiences. You, who keep finding happiness in us, even though you feel you haven't done much for us. You, who make all these things feel natural, despite the fact that none of it is taken for granted. In a rapidly changing world, we may lose our way more often than we do now. At times, we may feel confused by a world where a different set of common sense exists from what we once knew. Even so, through this enduring connection, we will gain the courage to do anything once again. And moving forward, we intend to keep striving to be people we are not ashamed of. We want to become better people than we are now. Because we know that you, who give us strength, are ultimately a good person. Just as night becomes midnight, then dawn, and then morning arrives—just as it is perfectly natural for light to find us after the hours of darkness—I hope that the days continue where we naturally sing and you naturally listen to our songs. I hope to be a natural person who knows how to be grateful for this time, where I can let you hear my songs as if it were nothing, yet we can always stand before you as our true selves.
