Stray Kids will release their 2nd full-length album 'NOEASY' on August 23, 2021.
After winning the final of Mnet's 'Kingdom: Legendary War' (hereinafter referred to as 'Kingdom'), which ended in June, Stray Kids set out to solidify the K-pop trend through their first album 'NOEASY' released this year. They presented the essence of the 'Maramat genre' that cannot be forgotten once tasted, such as the title song 'God's Menu' from their first full-length album 'GO生' and the title song 'Back Door' from their 1st full-length repackage album 'IN生' (Life). They are showing even higher popularity and growth with their second full-length album that doubles the flavor.
'NOEASY' is an album that continues Stray Kids' unique speaking style of communicating with the world through new words beyond the existing grammatical framework. Boasting a witty play with words and a gift for speaking, they deliver bold words befitting the MZ generation to those who offer advice on the lives of others.
The title song 'Singer' uses the dual meanings of 'nag' with noise and 'sing' as a single word, and expresses the message of never being discouraged by the nagging of others and saying what you want to say and keeping your standards. There is a contrast between the 'naggers' who constantly nag and the confident 'screamers' Stray Kids who do not give in to this, say what they have to say and steadfastly pursue their own music. The splendid and diverse sounds of traditional Korean traditional music are added to the grand melody to increase the fun of listening, and the rhythmic sounds such as 'rumbling, boom, boom, pound, pound, pound' and 'bangbbang' complete the peak of Stray Kids' unique excitement.
The visuals of Stray Kids, which has a reputation as a ‘concept restaurant’ for its bold and fresh style, are also worth paying attention to. The eight members, Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N, presented an atmosphere full of unstoppable energy, wit, and leisure, and visually embodied the charm of the new song. The music video for ‘Sori Kkun’ contained dynamic beauty with traditional colors such as court music, pungmul play, and Bukcheong lion masks, and created scenes full of scale by utilizing animation transitions and visual special effects.
Starting with the intro track 'CHEESE', the new album includes the title songs 'Soundman', 'DOMINO', 'SSICK', 'The View', 'Sorry for liking you', 'Silent Cry', 'Secret that cannot be told', and 'Star Lost'. Following this, the unit songs 'Obsessed (Bang Chan, Hyunjin)', 'Surfin' (Rino, Changbin, Felix)' (Surfing), 'Gone Away (Han, Seungmin, I.N)' (Gone Away)' (Gone Away)' and 'WOLFGANG' (Wolfgang), which was performed in the final contest of Mnet's 'Kingdom', was released on June 26th and ranked first on the US Billboard's 'World Digital Song Sales Chart' on July 10th. It contains a total of 14 songs, including the digital single ‘Ae’.
Stray Kids solidified its status as a 'self-producing group' by listing all members, starting with 3RACHA, in the credits of the new album. In addition, the album's completeness was improved by collaborating with leading domestic and foreign writers such as Versachoi, Krysta Youngs, HotSauce, and Hong Ji-sang.
Stray Kids' previous album 'IN生' achieved the highest score on the Hanteo Chart (album sales in a week based on the release date), and was recently selected as the No. 1 artist within 4 years of debut with the highest increase in social indicators in the first half of this year in Hanteo Chart's 'Hanteo Global K-Pop Report', proving their explosive domestic and international popularity growth. As the 2nd full-length album 'NOEASY' is an album and a major starting point that drives a strong wedge into the group's identity and upward trend, Stray Kids satisfies the five senses of K-pop fans around the world and solidifies its status as a '4th generation representative group'.
