Dedicated to songs by female artists
Na Yun-seon, who is receiving rave reviews as one of the most beloved vocalists in the modern jazz world (The Guardian/UK), releases her 12th full-length album, "Elles."
This album is a reinterpretation of the songs of female artists Na Yun-seon admires, allowing you to enjoy her wide musical spectrum and captivating voice.
In this new album, “Elles,” Na Yoon-seon composes the album only with the works of ten female artists who inspired her and had a great influence on her musical world, making her feel a special change from her previous works.
“This time, I wanted to honor female singers I’ve admired for a long time, whose songs and voices inspire me.” Through Na Yun-seon's story, we can get a clear glimpse of the direction of this new album, “Elles.”
Through this twelfth new album “Elles,” we can meet female singers who are all too familiar to us, such as Nina Simone, Björk, Sarah Vaughn, Grace Jones, Edith Piaf, and Roberta Flack, interpreted in Na Yun-sun’s own way. Based on this, we can guess that the reason for Na Yun-sun’s ever-changing musical moves is her wide-ranging musical tastes and curiosity. The new music shown in the new album also does not disappoint fans' expectations with song selections and interpretations that exceed expectations, and has already taken first place on the French Amazon jazz chart with pre-release reservations alone.
The new album “Elles,” recorded in New York, contains 10 gem-like songs such as ‘Feeling Good, My Funny Valentine, Killing Me Softly With His Song, I’ve Seen That Face Before, and Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child’, and is evaluated to have further improved its perfection with the delicate and creative performance of Jon Cowherd, an outstanding American pianist who works with famous musicians such as ‘Brian Blade, Iggy Pop, and Cassandra Wilson.’
