'Case Number 143'
: Stray Kids facing a major incident called 'Love'.
Stray Kids will release their new mini-album 'MAXIDENT' and title track 'CASE 143' on October 7, 2022.
Stray Kids achieved the third-ever record for a K-pop artist by entering the top of the US Billboard main chart 'Billboard 200' with their previous work 'ODDINARY', released on March 18 of this year. The title track 'MANIAC' proved its fervent global popularity by surpassing 100 million streams on the global music streaming platform Spotify as of August 31. Having firmly established themselves as the 'K-pop 4th Generation Leader', Stray Kids makes a grand comeback after about 7 months with the new album 'MAXIDENT'.
The new album title 'MAXIDENT' is a compound word combining the English words 'Max', 'Maximum' and 'Accident', 'Incident', meaning a 'major incident' that occurs without warning. This album contains a total of 8 songs, including the title track 'CASE 143', which expresses universal emotions like love in a more 'MANIAC' way, as well as 'Chill', 'Give Me Your TMI', 'SUPER BOARD', '3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin, Han)', 'TASTE (Lee Know, Hyunjin, Felix)', 'I Think I Like You (Seungmin, I.N)', and the Korean version of the title track from their second Japanese mini-album 'CIRCUS'.
The new song 'CASE 143' possesses a unique charm as it is the first love song Stray Kids has presented as a title track. It shows wit by comparing the confusion of feeling an unfamiliar emotion to an 'incident occurring' or expressing love through the code '143 (I LOVE YOU)'. The song structure, which unfolds rapidly over a synth line following a chromatic scale, captures the ear, and Stray Kids' signature intense energy delivers a thrill. 3RACHA, the group's producing team consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han—who have created all of Stray Kids' title tracks from their debut song 'District 9' in March 2018 to 'MANIAC' in March 2022—took charge of the lyrics and composition, and Bang Chan also participated in the arrangement, highlighting their musicality.
Led by 3RACHA, all members put their names in the credits of the new album, melting in distinct individuality and sincerity. To this, prominent domestic and international writers such as VERSACHOI, Hong Ji-sang, and earattack added their touch to complete another well-made album.
Stray Kids, who have captivated K-pop fans worldwide with their highly original music and performances, recently completed their second world tour consisting of 19 shows across 9 cities, re-proving their status as 'performance masters'. Driven by the passionate support of fans who sold out every date of the world tour, they held 'Stray Kids 2nd World Tour "MANIAC" Seoul Special (UNVEIL 11)' at KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Songpa-gu, Seoul on September 17 and 18 to repay the fervent love of their fans. This concert, which added significance by entering KSPO DOME, also recorded sell-outs for both performances, and the subsequent announcement of additional shows made Stray Kids' unstoppable upward trend tangible.
They are expected to cause another 'massive incident' in the K-pop music market through the high-quality mini-album 'MAXIDENT' and the title track 'CASE 143'.
