[세트] 정세운 (JEONG SEWOON) - 미니 6집 [Quiz]

Singer-songwriter Jeong Sewoon embarks on a new journey to find the existence of "I." His new album, filled with his own stories, presents music that only he can deliver. It is music in Jeong Sewoon's signature style, conveying a long-lasting resonance in the most comfortable way. As this is his first new release in about two years since the 5th mini-album 'Where is my Garden!' released in 2022, his more mature musical presence is also impressive. As with his previous work, he pours out questions toward the world felt while moving between imagination and reality. In particular, the process of intense exploration faced from an observer's perspective is revealed through Jeong Sewoon's detailed emotional expression. It is his own way of speaking—gaining empathy through honest lyrics and gently touching upon emotions. In this process, Jeong Sewoon took charge of songwriting, composing, and producing, harmoniously balancing the album as both a producer and a singer. The title track 'Quiz' is a medium-pop style song in which Jeong Sewoon, who has questions about everything in the world, presents answers in his own way. Additionally, Sunwoo Jung-a participated in the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of this song, collaborating with Jeong Sewoon. The two, who have shared inspiration as musical seniors and juniors for a long time, completed the synergy of "emotional masters" by working together on the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of Jeong Sewoon's song this time. Lyrics that defiantly face a world without correct answers, such as "My answer isn't among the choices / I can't be explained by the answer sheet others made / I move differently," are impressive. The music video, which starts from a quirky imagination, also delivers a thrilling experience through the various colors of daily life. The understated comfort and the lyrics that touch everyone's emotions as if confessing a personal story are enough to evoke great empathy. The track 'Singer-Song-Idol,' which unfolds Jeong Sewoon's story in a tailored manner, is also powerful. With the unique title 'Singer-Song-Idol,' the song offers a glimpse into his thoughts as he grows from a debutant into a storyteller who tells his true story and a genuine singer-songwriter. He wittily expresses his emotions while active across two domains represented by bright yellow and mysterious purple. It is the unrivaled capability of 'Singer-Song-Idol' Jeong Sewoon to handle a cheerful ordinary daily life with wit while also depicting the fleeting aspects of life with considerable composure. The album conveys Jeong Sewoon's deepened sensibility. Every track, unfolding with comfortable lyrics and melodies, harmoniously heads toward a single theme. In addition to the title track 'Quiz' and 'Singer-Song-Idol,' it is also unique that he collaborated with the American alternative pop band Nightly on the addictive pop song 'sharpie.' Furthermore, 'Perfectly,' which sings of unchanging and devoted love, and 'Always,' featuring Park Moon-chi—who has collaborated on various songs previously—once again added strength to Jeong Sewoon's album. His music, which increases immersion with vivid details, will continue to produce an even deeper flavor in the future.
