KISS OF LIFE 4th Mini Album [224]
KISS OF LIFE 4th Mini Album “224” released
- KISS OF LIFE, new album released after about 8 months [224]
- 7 tracks containing messages about freedom gained from oppression, liberation, and self-awareness
- Another bold transformation with the R&B hip-hop title song “Lips Hips Kiss”
About 8 months after the last mini album [Lose Yourself], KISS OF LIFE returned with their fourth mini album [224]. The title song ‘Get Loud’ and the b-side song ‘Igloo’, which clearly imprinted KISS OF LIFE’s unique color through previous works, created a stir by appearing on domestic and international music charts. They showed their strong presence by ranking high on global streaming platforms including Spotify, throughout Asia, including Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, and the Igloo challenge craze that spread mainly on social media proved their popularity once again.
In addition, the experience of successfully completing the first world tour [KISS ROAD] and meeting and interacting directly with fans around the world served as an opportunity to take the team's growth to the next level, and the musical prowess and depth developed during the journey naturally melted into the entire album, creating a more complete result.
“Today, Tomorrow, Forever”
KISS OF LIFE’s fourth mini-album [224] contains a narrative of one person’s ego moving from oppression to liberation through the flow of time, ‘today, tomorrow, and eternity.’ This is a journey to find the true ‘self’ through self-awareness beyond the simple passage of time, and a message to those who live while forgetting about themselves.
In the album, “Today” symbolizes the state of oppression under the gaze and rules of others, “Tomorrow” symbolizes the moment of self-awareness realized through struggle by questioning oneself, and “Forever” symbolizes the liberation achieved at the end of that awareness, that is, the self that regains its true self. Ultimately, ‘eternity’ in the album goes beyond the meaning of time and means the complete “me” as a being who makes my own choices and lives fully.
The album’s visuals start from a story about ‘dullened senses.’ It captures our emotions and thoughts becoming blurred in our repetitive daily life. It seems like a life that follows established rules and flows, but even within that, it sheds light on those who ask themselves ‘Who am I?’ and ‘How should I live?’ and struggle to find answers. It conveys the message that the eternal ‘me’ that one ultimately encounters must be achieved on one’s own, rather than obtained through someone or something, and depicts the process.
KISS OF LIFE, who have pioneered their own path with a clear concept and various genres of music with each album, are expected to show new charms and an extension of that journey in the [224] album. This album, which contains 7 songs of various genres including disco and acoustic ballads, including the feminine R&B hip-hop title song ‘Lips Hips Kiss’, is expected to capture the hearts of the public and fans once again.
01. Lips Hips Kiss - Title
‘Lips Hips Kiss’ is a song that captures the R&B hip-hop sensibility of the early 2000s, and expresses the emotions of the moment they fall in love with each other through sensual lyrics. The sophisticated melody, powerful kick, and bold hi-hat that flow over the layback rhythm further enhance the feminine mood. It is a song that naturally leads the listener to that era with a plot that is not excessive but never boring.
