TWICE will release their 9th mini album 'MORE & MORE' on June 1st.
Twice impresses both the eyes and the ears with a new album that maximizes positive and healthy energy.
It is a comeback 9 months after the previous work 'Feel Special' and the first new song released in 2020, quenching the thirst of music fans.
The title song 'MORE & MORE' is a song that contains the feeling of longing for the other person more when the excitement and sweetness of love matures. The trendiness is doubled with tropical house rhythm.
In the refrain, the sounds of instruments were arranged to focus on the spectacular performance.
Expectations are high for the birth of a 'steady-selling summer song' that will follow the first summer song 'Dance The Night Away', which was released in 2018 and received great love.
Park Jin-young, head of JYP Entertainment, who created Twice's representative songs such as 'SIGNAL', 'What is Love?', and 'Feel Special', was in charge of the lyrics and arrangement of 'MORE & MORE'.
These artists, who are guaranteed box office success in the music industry, meet again and aim for ‘13 consecutive hits’ based on their active songs.
Singer-songwriter BIBI, who boasted great chemistry with rap making and featuring in Park Jin-young's hit song 'FEVER' released last year, joined in writing the lyrics.
Producer MNEK of 'H.E.R.', which won the 'Best R&B Album' category at the '61st Grammy Awards', as well as Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and Zara Larsson, who have worked with famous American artists such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, also worked together for the title song.
The ‘MORE & MORE’ music video uses vivid colors and light to create a fascinating and intense feeling. Fantastic objects that look like something out of a fairy tale provide visual enjoyment. The nine members transform into forest goddesses, maximizing the mysterious and dreamy atmosphere.
In addition, the group dance scene on a geometric underwater set filmed in Jeju Island makes it impossible to take your eyes off.
The new album ‘MORE & MORE’ contains a total of seven tracks, including the title song of the same name, ‘OXYGEN’, ‘FIREWORK’, ‘MAKE ME GO’, ‘SHADOW’, ‘DON’T CALL ME AGAIN’ and ‘SWEET SUMMER DAY’.
A brilliant team of writers gathered, including the British composer team LDN Noise, who composed many hit songs such as SHINee's 'View', Red Velvet's 'Dumb Dumb', and Taeyeon's 'Why', as well as Sean Michael Alexander, who worked on TWICE's 'Heart Shaker', and JQ, who wrote EXO's 'Tempo'.
Twice, who has been working on songs consistently since their 2nd mini album ‘PAGE TWO’, also participated in the new album’s songs. Nayeon independently wrote the lyrics for 'MAKE ME GO', while Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung wrote the lyrics and rap making for 'SWEET SUMMER DAY', respectively.
Twice, who has earned the title 'K-pop's representative girl group', is showing off unique attempts with each comeback. This time, they plan to show even more captivating charm, just like the new album name ‘MORE & MORE’.
1. MORE & MORE
When the excitement and sweetness of love matures, the feeling of wanting the other person more is expressed as “More and more.” The tropical house rhythm gives you a refreshing feeling just by listening to it.
Instrument sounds were added to the chorus, and this part was filled with a gorgeous yet fresh performance.
Hit song maker Park Jin-young was in charge of writing and arranging the lyrics, bringing out Twice's bright and healthy energy. Leading writers such as BIBI, who showed special chemistry in 'FEVER' released by Park Jin-young last year, as well as MNEK, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and Zara Larsson, added their touches.
2. OXYGEN
A song full of Twice’s cheerfulness. Tell the person who is more precious than air that this moment is the happiest and most perfect. A bright shuffle rhythm was added to the refreshing voices of the members.
3. FIREWORK
This Latin genre song compares the emotions and situations of falling in love to fireworks. It feels like you are watching fireworks right in front of your eyes.
4. MAKE ME GO
Nayeon took charge of writing the lyrics and delivered a message telling the other person to approach them without hesitation. The increasingly high-pitched brass, the addictive chorus, and the witty ad-libs of Twice members are in harmony.
5. SHADOW
The firm determination to reveal the emotions that had been hidden for so long was expressed through tropical house and 80's scene sounds.
6. DON’T CALL ME AGAIN
It is a song that sends a warning message to the other person who cannot let go of their lingering feelings even though the relationship has already been broken. It doubles the softness and dynamics with the R&B feel that was popular in the mid-90s.
7. SWEET SUMMER DAY
Jeongyeon wrote the lyrics and Chaeyoung took charge of the rap making, and the message of enjoying the present moment was incorporated into the lyrics. It's a song you can listen to refreshingly in the coming summer.
