The group SEVENTEEN will release their Mini 7th Album [Henggarae] after approximately 9 months. SEVENTEEN's latest album [Henggarae] captures a powerful energy to move forward together into a new world with ‘dreams,’ breaking away from the emotion of ‘fear’ encountered in their 3rd full-length album [An Ode], and is an album that delivers a message of support to the youth challenging themselves toward their dreams.
‘Henggarae’ is a pure Korean word describing the action of several people tossing one person high up into the air and catching them. It wittily expresses the will to rise up by their own strength—comparing it to a ‘henggarae’—if one cannot find an answer amidst the countless worries and confusion of youth, a time when one is lost on which direction to take.
It would be no exaggeration to say that SEVENTEEN's albums are a history of their growth, as they have consistently presented various variations based on their thoughts and appearances at the time since their debut in 2015. Through this, they established the one-and-only brand called ‘SEVENTEEN,’ eventually becoming artists who receive hot spotlights worldwide, easily recording first-week sales of 700,000 copies.
Behind the global artist was always an album containing their own unique stories. Accordingly, for this Mini 7th Album, the members, led by WOOZI, immersed themselves in the overall album production and participated in songwriting and composing. In particular, Vernon and S.COUPS increased their involvement to melt in an honest and simple story of youth that everyone can relate to, creating a solid and high-quality album.
Furthermore, through this album, rather than expressing the pain of youth standing at a crossroads and worrying, SEVENTEEN intends to reach out first with their own unique ideas to support them, permeating them with passionate energy and showcasing a cheerful, popping, and different kind of charm.
The title track ‘Left & Right’ from [Henggarae], a healing album for youth captured in SEVENTEEN's own colors, is a song that reimagines the hip-hop genre of the 2000s with a 2020 sound. It delivers powerful energy, shouting a positive message of support—"Let's move forward vigorously without fear"—to those who feel there is no exit to the left or the right.
Additionally, the opening track of this album, ‘Fearless,’ perfectly continues the narrative from the previous work by depicting a version of SEVENTEEN that has broken free from the fear of ‘Fear’ from the previous album [An Ode].
In addition, the album completes a SEVENTEEN-style youth tracklist with a total of 6 songs: ‘Good to Me,’ which expresses emotions that were the only ones not ‘green’ (blooming) during a spring when everything else was green; ‘My My,’ which contains SEVENTEEN's autobiographical story and was pre-released through the trailer; ‘Kidult,’ which crafted comfort for youth into pure lyrics; and ‘Together,’ which beautifully carves the meaning of being together.
By capturing the various emotions and perspectives that can only be felt during youth in their Mini 7th Album [Henggarae], SEVENTEEN will deliver a deep resonance to many listeners, cheering them on by saying that our youth, running toward dreams and goals, is still ongoing and that we can move forward vigorously because we are together.
