“I don’t like sweet flavors because they’re too sweet” Acid Angel from Asia’s successful debut with an acidic flavor.
“I hope the rain and wind become stronger and stronger for me” TripleS, who has been running non-stop since their debut until ‘Rising’, presents a new dimension again.
Girls with eyes that are so clear and transparent that they sparkle. +(KR)ystal Eyes finally debuts. The waiting time, which was formed by fans' votes at the end of 2022, was filled with clear and clear preparations and was ready to meet fans.
‘AESTHETIC’, which reinterprets the sensibility of Y2K into the music taste of 2023, was chosen to pursue aesthetic visuals and music that maximize the charm of +(KR)ystal Eyes.
These are groups that have now gone beyond memories and can only be found as footage on YouTube, but what would groups like S.E.S. and Fin.K.L. look like if they time-leap to another world? What kind of music would it be if the emotions of that time were interpreted as emojis? The concept began with this imagination.
The first track, ‘Cherry 100%’, is the intro song to the title song ‘Cherry Talk’ and is filled with a juicy and refreshing sound.
The title song ‘Cherry Talk’ contains the story of a generation that expresses emotions with emojis faster than conversations or text messages. While Acid Angel from Asia sings about selfies and TikTok, ‘Cherry Talk’ sings about Instagram stories and DMs that quickly disappear. The existentialism of teenagers, whose emotions are immediately visualized but whose visual images are impermanent, is expressed through music. The song, created under the lead of Monotree's producer Jongseong Yoon, features NuDance with RGB sound, and the cute details are attractive.
The subtrack ‘Touch’ reproduces the girl group sound of the late 90s. +(KR)ystal Eyes' unique hot track that can bring nostalgia to those who remember the girls of the Y2K era and freshness to the generation that only knows about that era through videos on the Internet. Hymax, who produced tripleS’ ‘Colorful’, contributed again.
Even though it is considered a virtue to express love directly these days, there are still girls here who are unable to express their feelings and hide them tightly. ‘(Hide & Seek)’ is a sugar pop song that captures the feelings of shyness and excitement in love.
The spin-off track ‘Deja-Vu’ of tripleS ‘Rising’, which was called ‘Deja-Vu of reality, not a dream’, attracted attention right from the song introduction thanks to member Park So-hyun’s participation in producing. Park So-hyun, who is young but has amazing potential, and Fuxxy and Anymasingga, who produced ‘Beam’, worked together to improve the album’s completeness. So is that déjà vu-like dream a dream that has come true? Or is it a dream I woke up from? I ask.
The last track is decorated with tripleS' original number ‘Dimension’ arranged into the +(KR)ystal Eyes version. The song, which has a clear and refreshing arrangement that is different from Acid Angel from Asia, once again reminds us of tripleS' unique theme of gaining strength when together.
An idol of all possibilities. Creation and growth. And the amazing future of tripleS, which will further increase its power through combination, is now increasingly becoming a reality.
