SEVENTEEN delivers a ‘Feast of Youth’ through their special album ‘; [Semicolon]’
“It’s okay to take a break” A more mature and deeper SEVENTEEN-style youth record! From the title track ‘HOME;RUN,’ which can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere, to the mix units.
Completing the youth discography… The reason why the special album ‘; [Semicolon]’ is even more special! The group SEVENTEEN has returned after about four months with the special album ‘; [Semicolon]’. SEVENTEEN's latest album ‘; [Semicolon]’ once again shares the message of support for ‘youth’ that was discussed through their 7th mini-album ‘Henggarae,’ while taking a step further to deliver a more mature, positive message to the youth who run without rest: ‘Let’s take a break and enjoy the feast of youth.’ By comparing the ‘time to catch one's breath’ and ‘time to laugh and enjoy together’ for the youth struggling in the current era to a ‘Semicolon’—a punctuation mark used to briefly pause a sentence before continuing the explanation—the album is filled with messages of empathy from SEVENTEEN, who live as youth of the same era, delivering warm comfort, support, and a cry of hope to soothe the youth.
# A more mature and deeper SEVENTEEN-style ‘Youth Record’
Having become million-sellers by recording first-week sales of 1.09 million copies with their previous 7th mini-album ‘Henggarae,’ SEVENTEEN expanded their own story in this album without setting limits within the broad framework of ‘youth.’ With the team's producer Woozi at the center, the members overall participated in the album's production to melt in a more relatable and realistic image of youth. The title track ‘HOME;RUN’ of the special album ‘; [Semicolon]’, which highlights SEVENTEEN's unique ‘youth identity,’ is a song featuring a retro sound based on the swing genre. With a cheerful and impactful sound, it expresses the thrill associated with the term ‘HOME RUN’ and provides a voice of powerful support and comfort to the youth possessing infinite growth. In particular, this album captures the uniqueness of a special album by expressing the youth of various eras through diverse mix units not seen in previous albums, allowing listeners to encounter various genres from acid jazz to funky in a single album. It created an even more special album by including a total of four mix unit songs: ‘AH! LOVE,’ which highlights the witty sensibility of S.Coups, Jeonghan, and Joshua; ‘Fire,’ which contains the mature, unexpected charm of Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, and Woozi; ‘HEY BUDDY,’ full of the funky charm of The8, Mingyu, and DK; and ‘Do Re Mi,’ containing the cheerfulness of Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. Furthermore, it completed the ‘youth discography’ of the special album ‘; [Semicolon]’ by including a total of six songs, including ‘Just,’ a song for a precious person who makes one forget the hardships of daily life for a moment. As such, this special album by SEVENTEEN was born from the various worries and thoughts of the ‘youth generation’ living today, who wander and experience growing pains with their own unique colors of youth depending on the era and generation, despite it being a period everyone goes through. In the feast of youth, as they support, comfort, and increase the temperature of empathy for one another, wounds will be healed, and this will serve as a great message of empathy for the many youth of this era who will create new stories once again.
