[Daybreak], the first solo mini-album released by Highlight leader Yoon Du-jun for the first time in 11 years since his debut.
He thought that as he grew older, he would become someone who could solve his worries with ease, but as time passed, living became even more difficult and his worries grew. Nights where complex emotions and thoughts follow one another in an endless chain—whether he is on the right path, whether he is doing well, how he should live, and what he wants to do—and then, upon the arrival of a new morning, his image of pretending to be fine, acting as if such worries are nothing. The emptiness that anyone must have felt at least once, and the image of him contemplating for a long time the direction of his life that still remains elusive, connects once again to the endless sleepless nights experienced by the narrator in the movie 'Fight Club.'
Amidst those long, lingering worries, now that he has stepped back out into the world before his fellow members, he finally prepares to let his voice be heard. He once smiled softly, saying he hadn't considered a solo album because he loved group activities and preferred singing together; the songs he sings now closely resemble his calm and composed voice.
He still cannot give you a clear answer regarding those tedious and long sleepless nights. Nor can he directly deliver a message of comfort or encouragement. However, he wanted to say, "You are not the only one with those worries or thoughts that keep you awake at night." The relief that comes from a strange sense of kinship—knowing that it's not just you, and that others might be spending this very moment with the same worries. Furthermore, he wanted to convey his gratitude for having a light he could turn to when feeling lonely during the difficult moments of life that come to everyone. Thus were created his songs, which begin at midnight and float in the world, comforting and soothing millions of individual sleepless nights. I am just like you.
