STAYC returns with a more powerful version of their own special signature genre, ‘TEENFRESH’!
STAYC's first mini-album [STEREOTYPE] will be released on September 6th! The description ‘an idol group with both talent and visuals’ has now become a synonym for STAYC. Gaining a hot presence through word-of-mouth as a group where ‘everyone is a center, vocal, and performer,’ STAYC established themselves as a representative girl group of the 4th generation, concluding their activities with critical acclaim after achieving their own highest record since debut with ‘ASAP’ from their second single album ‘STAYDOM.’ With their debut album ‘Star To A Young Culture,’ they surpassed 10,000 copies in first-week sales, proving their power by ranking 1st among girl groups that debuted that year. In their second album ‘STAYDOM,’ they surpassed 35,000 copies in first-week sales, once again demonstrating their strength by achieving sales that far exceeded double those of the previous work. Immediately after the release of ‘STAYDOM,’ the title track ‘ASAP’ not only entered the upper ranks of domestic music charts, but the ‘kneading dance’ of ‘ASAP’ became a huge topic on social media and portals, increasing the public awareness of ‘ASAP’ and receiving much love. Furthermore, they showed remarkable growth in global popularity, being named among the ‘5 Rising Korean Artists’ by the US Grammys and ‘Best K-POP of 2021’ by US Time magazine. Additionally, they have been selected as exclusive advertising models for cosmetics, headphones, and contact lenses in both domestic and international markets, receiving endless love calls from the advertising industry despite being rookies who have not yet been debuted for a full year. Having shown a more grown-up side amidst the love of many listeners at home and abroad, STAYC has returned to us with their new album ‘STEREOTYPE.’ What you see is not everything! This album is STAYC's first mini-album, containing a total of 4 songs, and the overarching theme of the album is ‘STEREOTYPE.’ The title track ‘STEREOTYPE’ is a song that captures STAYC's own high-teen vibe and elegance, based on their special signature genre ‘TEENFRESH.’ The message of wanting to break free from the prejudices and stereotypes where people easily judge others simply by their appearance is captured in the lyrics ‘Don't look through colored glasses.’ Through ‘STEREOTYPE,’ they aim to let many people know that they should not define our color as just one thing within a stereotype, and that we have diverse colors and essences. Expectations are high as listeners can see the multifaceted sides of STAYC, from a dreamy image to a funky image, through ‘STEREOTYPE.’ With production for all songs by High Up Entertainment's representative producer Black Eyed Pilseung and Jeon Gun, listeners can feel the various moods of STAYC's music, and they are emerging as artists whose future growth is even more anticipated due to the wide musical spectrum displayed in each song.

By combining simple, repetitive vocal samples and synth sounds to maximize energy and freshness, and expressing an elegant atmosphere that contrasts with the refreshing Verse through the sensual BRASS sound of the Hook part, STAYC's upgraded 'TEENFRESH' track, , was born. The phrase "Don't look at me through colored glasses" in the chorus contains a girl's heart wishing to be seen purely rather than being judged by outward appearances alone, and isn't this a wish for all of us, not just STAYC? “Don't look at me through colored glasses”

Starting with the calm tone of an electric guitar, this is a Contemporary R&B genre song where sophisticated melodies and sincere lyrics capture the emotions of a sad and lonely breakup in a dreamy mood. We hope it becomes a song of infinitely overwhelming and beautiful consolation for those who have experienced a breakup and those who are suffering pain.

This is a Tropical House song where dynamic and popping Tropical sounds blend perfectly with STAYC's sophisticated vocals, featuring a masterpiece of a HOOK that bursts pleasantly with the lyrics 'Slowly SLOW DOWN BABY'. It perfectly melts in the excitement of love beginning and the wish to get closer slowly and naturally without rushing, once again showcasing STAYC's own 'TEENFRESH' which is differentiated from the feeling of existing pop songs.

A song with a retro sensibility was born, mixing a groovy beat, an addictive melody, and STAYC's 'TEENFRESH'.
Vibe's retro yet sophisticated sound from the early 2000s is more than enough to captivate the listener's ears, and the lyrics—which speak of suffering because the traces of a breakup not yet forgotten remain as a COMPLEX—seem to effectively convey the fact that the depth of the pain is as great as the love once was.
