ONF - 2nd regular album [ONF:MY IDENTITY]

The 2nd Full Album Part.1 [ONF:MY IDENTITY], containing ONF's unique identity and history. 'The Stranger', a powerful healing energy in ONF's style, hoping to be a source of strength for all who listen. ONF's expanded music X performance, which will show a pleasant destructive power by becoming the 'Only One'. The group ONF expresses the most powerful strength that hope can provide. Approximately 10 months after the release of their 8th mini-album [BEAUTIFUL SHADOW] last April, and about 4 years since their 1st full album [ONF:MY NAME] released in February 2021, ONF presents their 2nd full album Part.1 [ONF:MY IDENTITY]. Having captivated domestic and international fans with a grand narrative and unrivaled live performances and choreography through their 8th mini-album, ONF seeks another transformation in their 2nd full album Part.1 [ONF:MY IDENTITY]. In this album, ONF delivers a deeper worldview and music, conveying hope and the strength to move forward to those in the darkness as travelers chasing their dreams. Once again, they collaborated with producer Hwang Hyun, who has been with them since their debut, and members MKyun and WYATT added more meaning by participating in the composition and lyrics of the title track and B-side tracks. In particular, ONF writes a story that only 'we' can tell, based on 'our' own standards rather than the absolute standards set by the world. The members not only showcase an upgraded musical spectrum by exploding the synergy of bright energy but also demonstrate their image as flawless 'performance masters'. The 2nd full album Part.1 [ONF:MY IDENTITY], where one can glimpse ONF's complete music and performance, consists of a total of 6 tracks. First, the title track 'The Stranger' is a pop genre featuring a standout funky rhythm, and it is an impressive song with vocals that freely traverse a wide vocal range. With the theme of "the story of 'us' chasing dreams," the members' charming tones blend harmoniously to show a strong attraction along with the determination and firmness to walk 'our' own path. Not only the title track, but the B-side tracks also boast high quality. 'Night Tale', which sharply and attractively depicts a wandering heart; 'Nothing but a stranger (ON Team Ver.)', an R&B song by the vocal unit ON Team that conveys unspoken feelings through melody and harmony; 'Anti Hero (OFF Team Ver.)' by the performance unit OFF Team, which will show diverse charms as much as the song's brilliant variations; 'Good Place', which offers a brief rest in a busy daily life; and 'Collab', which contains a message they want to send to their fans—this 2nd full album Part.1 is sufficient to further solidify ONF's group identity as the 'Only One'. 01 The Stranger Composed by Hwang Hyun (MonoTree), MKyun (ONF), LUKE (MonoTree) Lyrics by Hwang Hyun (MonoTree), WYATT (ONF) Arranged by Hwang Hyun (MonoTree) "The story of us chasing dreams. A today and tomorrow that no one knows and we have never been to. That is why every one of our days is strange." The title track 'The Stranger' is an impressive song with a funky beat and vocals that freely traverse a wide range, singing about a harsh world with ONF's own positive message. The Scat that follows the rough rhythm and a storm-like surge of vocals further enhances the diverse charm of the composition, and between the cheerfulness created by the witty scat and bass line, one can glimpse ONF's determination to walk 'our' own path. 02 Night Tale Composed by NILD, Hwang Hyun, LUKE (MonoTree), MK (ONF) Lyrics by Hwang Hyun (MonoTree), WYATT (ONF) Arranged by NILD, Hwang Hyun (MonoTree) “It was my own heart that made me wander” ‘Night Tale’ is an Electro Funk track featuring a charming, contrasting ensemble created by a sharply repeating Synth Bass and restrained Drums. By minimizing the use of instruments, it clearly showcases the rhythmical vocals of the ‘talented group’ ONF. 03 Nothing but a stranger (ON Team Ver.) Composed by minGtion, JUNNY Lyrics by minGtion, JUNNY Arranged by minGtion “In the world that is you, I am a stranger” ‘Nothing but a stranger’ is a song by the three-member vocal unit ON Team (Hyojin, E-TION, MK). It is an R&B genre, which is rarely seen in existing ONF music; if the melody represents the words spoken aloud, the harmony (Chord) represents the feelings left unexpressed. Contrary to the calm delivery of the words, the numerous unresolved non-harmonic tones—the heart of this song—blend with unstoppable emotions to express sincerity. 04 Anti Hero (OFF Team Ver.) Composed by Hwang Hyun, Fuxxy, Any masingga (MonoTree), Jacob Aaron (THE HUB), WYATT (ONF) Lyrics by Hwang Hyun (MonoTree), WYATT (ONF), GDLO (MonoTree) Arranged by Hwang Hyun, Fuxxy, Any masingga (MonoTree) “What is justice?” ‘Anti Hero,’ a song by the three-member performance unit OFF Team (Seungjun, WYATT, U), is a track where Trip Hop and Rock compositions unfold alternately. The vocals of OFF Team expressed in ‘Anti Hero’ clearly demonstrate why ONF is recognized for their solid vocal abilities. 05 Good Place Composed by HARING, Hwang Hyun, Kwon Ae-jin (MonoTree) Lyrics by Hwang Hyun, GDLO (MonoTree) Arranged by HARING, Hwang Hyun (MonoTree) “Let’s paint these unfamiliar days beautifully” ‘Good Place’ is a song that focuses on the original colors of the House genre without modification. Together with the distinct vocal tones of the six members, it evokes happy imaginations. In particular, the low-register chorus suggests a brief moment of relaxation in a busy daily life and offers warm encouragement. 06 Collab Composed by MK (ONF), Hwang Hyun, HARING (MonoTree) Lyrics by Hwang Hyun (MonoTree), WYATT (ONF) Arranged by Hwang Hyun, HARING (MonoTree) “The process of completing a song is similar to the way connections are linked and deepen” ‘Collab’ is a song completed by gradually continuing, drawing, and coloring the chorus of a sketch created by member MK. It carries a message they wish to convey to their fans over a Bossa Nova rhythm, and the members' love for their fans spreads beautifully over the bouncy melody.
