Guides to frenetic music,
Their first extravaganza
RabidAnce: PRISM
[PRISM] is the first mini-album by ‘RabidAnce,’ who showcased poignant performances and exhilarating stage presence across a diverse range of genres—from classical and traditional Korean music to world music—on JTBC's Phantom Singer 3. Following the release of their singles [Thank You] and [Song of Parting] last year, this album is the result of long deliberation, focusing heavily on establishing RabidAnce's musical identity. Rather than adhering to a single overarching theme, the album focuses on gathering their unique sounds while highlighting the individual personalities of the tenor, bass, sorikkun (traditional singer), and musical theater actor.
Music Director Kwon Tae-eun, who has been with them since their inception on Phantom Singer, served as the overall album producer. The quality of the album was further enhanced by the beautiful lyrics of Korea's top emotional lyricists Kim Eana and Yoon Sara, as well as a performance feature by violist Richard Yong Jae O'Neill, a 2021 Grammy winner.
As the title suggests, [PRISM] contains seven different songs, each with its own distinct color. The title track is a highly anticipated collaboration featuring Music Director Kwon Tae-eun (who composed Noel's "Proposal" and god's "Ordinary Day"), top lyricist Kim Eana, and the illustrious Richard Yong Jae O'Neill. The lyrics tell the story of us existing in the universe—a story of how we cannot help but influence one another.
Additionally, the album includes a studio recording version of , which received the strongest response among the songs performed at the Phantom All-Star game. The song [ ], which caused a sensation in Greece when performed by Ko Young-yeol and Hwang Geon-ha on Phantom Singer 3, has been re-recorded with the voices of all four RabidAnce members. Furthermore, they present , a traditional Korean crossover song in the RabidAnce style, following in the footsteps of Heungtaryeong and Monggeumpo Taryeong.
The album showcases RabidAnce's multi-dimensional, prism-like colors throughout, including —a RabidAnce-style ballad with a poignant and classical sensibility composed by Music Director Kwon Tae-eun and pianist Lee Jin-ju and written by Yoon Sara (lyricist of Kim Bum-soo's "I Miss You" and "Last Love")—as well as [ ], a song designed to breathe together with the audience on stage, and a cover of Rick Astley's 80s British hit pop, continuing the streak of RabidAnce's high-energy performances seen in "Corrida" and "Another Star."
This album will be accompanied by photos capturing the various charms and sides of the members, two types of photo cards, and stickers featuring the RabidAnce logo.
