HIGHLIGHT THE 1st FULL ALBUM [DAYDREAM]
Anyway, the fact that we can still dream together even now is a truly wonderful thing.
I clearly remember the time around this season exactly one year ago. Back then, as we prepared for a new album, my heart fluttered endlessly as if I were doing all of this for the very first time. We might not have been able to, but in the end, we were able to laugh more. And in every one of our places and moments, there were people who loved us like a habit.
To those who first learned how to swallow their tears in a pitch-black darkness where even expressions were hard to read, to those who tell us they are okay the moment they see us—even now, 13 years later, we still don't quite know what words to offer them. However, right now, I hope that the winter we faced is not forgotten like a dream. At least for us now, that is the case. Not because we wish for that time to return, but because it is also our history and our memory. If it weren't for that winter, we might not have become as close as we are now, and we might not have crossed that long stretch of time safely. Through that tedious and long winter, we learned once again how to endure together, and now, by remembering that winter, we intend to honor the time we spent overcoming it together.
This album, created with a heart that has grown a bit more than last year, is special because it is Highlight's first full-length album, but more than anything, I wanted to make it because I felt it was something they would want to hear and would enjoy. In truth, that is why we create every album or song now. Because we want to add another good song featuring our voices to their playlists. Because we want to show them new performances. Because we want to create moments where we share stories and build new memories together, one by one. And, though this is a bit selfish, it's simply because we want to see the smiles we love.
Someday, the days will come again when we sing songs like a habit, and they listen to our songs like a habit. Days that are casual, trivial and warm like the air, where we can hardly remember when that winter even was. And for that time, we must now learn how to dream together. Is there anything more helpless than a dream? Yet, we will probably seek it out every time and strive to be together. Of course, it may not be the same dream. In the end, we will not be looking at the same place as them. Because until this sweet dream of ours ends, we will be looking at them, and they will be looking at us. Still, anyway, even now and on some day far in the future, the fact that we can dream together is a truly wonderful thing.
