XODIAC 3rd Mini Album - 〈PHANTOM FIRE〉
The worldview of the ‘Prince and the Vampire,’ which was gradually built up in 〈Alibi〉, now enters a new phase. As the album title Phantom Fire suggests, the moment the flames descend like a phantom, the relationship between the two is no longer one of confrontation. Having already become allies, they traverse the night freely and boldly, with the composure of those who have foreseen the end, like a party just before the apocalypse.
The title track 〈Phantom Fire〉 is a track where Drum & Bass, Jersey Club, and Trap elements organically intersect, centered around an intense Synth Bass and a flexibly flowing Groove. The unpredictable rhythmic progression maximizes the presence of the performance and vocals, clearly revealing the multi-layered textures of the team.
〈You Know〉 leaves a strong impression as stable vocals, charming tones, and dense harmonies are elaborately layered over a rich rhythmic structure, adding genre elements of Rock and R&B centered on refreshing electric guitars and a solid band sound. By presenting both a group version and a unit version, it continues the structural extensibility of ‘XODIAC Flexible.’
〈On The Rock〉 is a track where R&B, Soul, Pop, and Rock flow naturally, based on a rhythmical Bass Line, drums, and chill instrumental sounds. Within the restrained sound design, it presents XODIAC's further matured musical mood.
〈Starlight〉 is a song that modernly reinterprets Pop/Rock based on a refreshing guitar sound and a cheerful band sound. Using the etymology of the team name, ‘constellations in the night sky,’ as a motif, it simply conveys a message of hoping the members' sincerity reaches the fans.
Phantom Fire deals with the story after the confrontation. At the point where coexistence begins, XODIAC establishes their own new order upon these flames.
